spring

I did for a moment, foolishly I might add, think that once I stopped working life might slow down a bit.  But alas, the void was quickly filled with the day to day business that just is at this time of year.  Plans for gardens, babies, chickens....the list goes on.  But oh, there is still a little more time - you know to pause for just a second and really enjoy that coveted cup of coffee in the morning.  This I save for after Isabelle has been dropped off at school and Owen is usually pre occupying himself with "fixing something".   It seems this spring is speeding by unprecedentedly fast - weekends already filled to the brim and we anxiously await a new addition to our family clan (not me, oh no....a cousin is in the works!).  No we haven't slowed down, not one bit, but there are moments to enjoy and maybe just a little more time to enjoy them - and that has been just what we needed.

exhale.

phew!  I made it - crossed the work finish line!  I am quite literally so happy I could do a dance right now.  Last week, on my first official day home, I spent it quietly - with Owen at his last day of daycare and Isabelle off to school I had a refreshing first day back to just being mama.  I had big intentions of cleaning, sewing a skirt for Isabelle, something warm and baked.... but that just didn't happen.  Instead I took a trip down memory lane and tackled boxes of baby and toddler clothes.  With just over 8 weeks left to go - holy snowballs - until my "guess date" I decided it was time to pay a little attention to what is to come.  A new addition to this family that is so highly anticipated - Owen at the mention of baby declares "i'm big brother!!" and Isabelle tells me of all the things she will be able to help me do "I will show everyone who comes to visit how to hold the baby".

diapers ready for a sweet little bum
realizing there is truly no need for any more baby boy clothes at the moment....
furthermore coming to the realization that I will definitely not be able to get rid of any baby girl outfits...
oh no...not today anyway...
