Today is Isabelle's last day of being two (*pout). In honor of 2 we pulled out her birthday ring and put in that 2 one last time. Today we are reflecting and preparing. Reflecting on the past year and preparing for the next (not to mention preparing for a small birthday celebration tomorrow and a trip home- YAY!). We are continually amazed by Is and how much she has grown in the past year. She is silly, sassy, and a big love and we love every little bit of her.
So today we are cleaning, baking a cake (with purple frosting...), finishing up her birthday dress, and maybe even a little packing.
We are so excited to share Isabelle's big 3 birthday with her!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'd love for you to share with us all the ways you use the birthday ring to celebrate---we've always thought about using one, but weren't quite sure how to work it into our celebrations.
Well I suppose we are still dreaming up ways to use it! Last year was our first year with it (a gift from my mother) and we just had it out and lit the candles and let them burn down to little nubs on the day of her birthday. This year we took it out the day before to celebrate being two and this morning (her birthday) she received a few gifts and one of them was the number 3 that she replaced the 2 with and a new little figure (a bunny). We also added another candle for her third year. I have even thought about breaking it out for holiday/seasonal celebrations because it is really just a pretty piece.
